Why I Started The Real Life Reboot

Over the last few years, my life has changed in almost every way.

After the end of a long marriage, I found myself single in my 40s, rebuilding family life, changing career direction and learning how to make decisions for myself again. For the first time, I was also the sole provider — responsible for our home, our money and our financial security in a way that felt very real, very quickly.

It wasn’t just a fresh start. It was a full life reset.

I had to work out how to create a home that felt calm, steady and mine. I had to understand money differently and begin rebuilding my financial confidence. I had to build routines that worked in real life, not just on paper. I had to find ways to create more options, more independence and more breathing space.

Along the way, I started reselling. At first, it was a practical way to bring in extra money. But it became more than that. It gave me a sense of momentum. It reminded me that small actions could create choices. One listing, one sale, one cleared corner, one better system at a time.

The Real Life Reboot grew from that place.

It is not about having a perfect home, a perfect routine or a perfectly polished life. It is about rebuilding real life in a way that feels manageable, honest and yours again.

Here, I share the things I’m learning as I rebuild: home resets, everyday systems, side income ideas, reselling, money confidence, travel planning, useful tools, identity, confidence and starting again in midlife.

Some parts of rebuilding are emotional. Some are practical. Most are both.

Because sometimes the next chapter does not begin with one huge brave decision. Sometimes it starts with clearing the kitchen, listing five things for sale, making a plan for the week, booking the trip, opening the windows, sorting the laundry, or choosing one small thing that makes life feel a little more possible.

That is what The Real Life Reboot is about.

Practical, not perfect.

One small reset at a time.

If you are rebuilding part of your life too, you can follow my continuing journey and become part of The Real Life Reboot community.
